Jorge Yázpik’s work derives from his primary interest in experimenting with a wide range of materials and forms that expose unique and powerful sensations to the viewer.
Through the use of subjects such as volcanic stone, marble, obsidian, granite, jade, wood, iron, water, light, void, lines, and geometry, he is capable of producing a harmonious relationship between highly contrasting mediums.
His endless interest in exposing such a balance has resulted in numerous media ranging from designing public plazas, producing prints and oil paintings, to carving small and large-scale sculptures of various materials.
